Morgan Schauer, LIU women’s hockey senior captain, became the first Shark ever drafted to a professional women’s hockey team. The Metropolitan Riveters selected her in the fifth round of the National Women’s Hockey League draft. Schauer played in every game during her two-year career at LIU and was a crucial defensive leader for the Sharks’ back-to-back New England Women’s Hockey Alliance championship teams in 2020 and 2021.
