The Curvy Fashionista and Eloquii announced that Melissa Mercedes ’11 is the winner of the 2021 Cultivate Award, which supports the next generation of black, indigenous and people of color who are plus-size fashion designers. Mercedes, who created her own company and a line of dresses for curvy women to promote self-love, confidence and empowerment, will receive one year of professional mentorship and funding to continue her work, along with the opportunity for a capsule collection with Eloquii.
