U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland appointed former Worcester County (Maryland) prosecutor and Wicomico County Deputy State’s Attorney William McDermott ’07, as a federal immigration judge assigned to the New York City Court. McDermott served as lead prosecutor on a number of important cases in Maryland over the past three years, assisted in the creation of a new Prosecution Integrity Unit, and led the first annual Wicomico County State’s Attorney Summer Camp for youth.
