After founding UniWorld in 1969, Lewis’ company went on to champion multicultural advertising and promote the interests of Black consumers. Clients included Mars Inc., Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, AT&T, Ford Motor, the U.S. Marines and more. A collection from his groundbreaking career titled “Byron Lewis, Ad King Extraordinaire” is currently on display at the Smithsonian Museum’s Consumer Era section.
