Virology Professor Maged Hemida co-authored research on a new strain of Bovine Coronavirus, designated BCoV-13. Hemida and his team isolated and characterized the strain by conducting a genomic analysis. The findings, published in Virology, could lead to improved diagnostic tools and control strategies for BCoV infections in cattle, which cause significant economic losses in the livestock industry.
