The 75th Anniversary of the George Polk Awards Ceremony celebrated the 2024 Polk Award winners and honored an additional sixteen outstanding journalists whose careers reflect a commitment to deep investigative reporting, as “George Polk laureates.” Established in 1949 by LIU to commemorate George Polk, a CBS correspondent murdered in 1948 while covering the Greek civil war, the awards honor special achievement in journalism.
