In a coordinated effort to build a robust, statewide educator pipeline in New York, the New York State Teachers Association has launched a new initiative: Take a Look at Teaching (TALAT). LIU’s CEIT Dean Laura Seinfeld and Associate Dean Cary Epstein brought the effort to local Long Island school districts, providing area high schoolers and middle schoolers with an in-depth look at the teaching profession. Teachers from the Oceanside School District called the opportunity “priceless. Our students had the privilege of witnessing the dedication, passion and unwavering commitment of educators to their profession and their students. And that had a huge impact on their commitment to pursue the field.”
