NY Board of Regents Selects Chancellor

The New York State Board of Regents unanimously elected Dr. Lester W. Young Jr. to serve as chancellor, becoming the first African American to be elected to the position. Young will lead and serve as the presiding officer of the board, which is responsible for the general supervision of all educational activities in the state. Young has educated students at all levels during his distinguished career, including a visiting professorship at LIU’s Graduate School of Education from 2004 to 2008.
