The New York Times praised theatre professor Leon Ingulsrud’s adaptation of the Yukio Mishima novel The Temple of the Golden Pavilion. Ingulsrud directed the one-man stage show, Yukio Mishima’s Kinkakuji, at the Japan Society in Manhattan. The production was a collaboration with the world-renowned installation artist Chiharu Shiota in celebration of 100 years since the birth of Mishima, one of Japan’s most iconic authors.
