The New York Army National Guard announced the promotion of Isabel Rivera-Smith, ’01, to Brigadier General. Her decorated Army career began in 1985 when General Smith enlisted on active duty, and she went on to earn prestigious awards throughout her career such as the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.
